So what is “Dear Governor?” Our students work together in project teams to create a video letter to the state Governor that details a specific issue they would like the Governor to address/change/improve/repeal. The issues they address range from Immigration to Cyberbullying, Social Equality to our Environment. The project emphasizes project-based learning and culminates at the end of the quarter with a presentation including appropriate photographs, video, music, graphs, and other visual aids along with clearly stated problems and proposed solutions. This project is ultimately uploaded by Warhill High School’s Humanities by Design instructors, to be viewed by the Governor’s office, via the “Letters to the Governor” website created by the College of William & Mary.
